Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mission Shanti ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, retains, and shares information when you use the Shanti mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in to the App, we collect the following depending on the sign-in method you choose:

• Google Sign-In: Your email address, name, profile picture, and Google account identifier.

• Apple Sign-In: Your name (if you choose to share it), email address (or Apple's relay email), and Apple user identifier.

1.2 Mood Tracking Data

When you log your mood, we collect:

• A numeric feeling scale value (1–10)

• An associated emotion or mood type

• The date of the entry

1.3 Device & Technical Information

We collect limited device information to operate the App reliably, including:

• Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifier

• Network connectivity status

• Authentication tokens (stored securely on your device)

1.4 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect precise location data.

• We do not collect health data beyond the mood entries you voluntarily log.

• We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and authenticate your account.

• To save and display your mood history.

• To send you scheduled local notifications (mood reminders), if enabled.

• To deliver personalized tips and content based on your logged mood.

• To diagnose technical issues and improve the App's stability.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the following service providers, strictly as needed to operate the App:

• Google Firebase Authentication — for secure sign-in.

• Apple Sign-In — for secure sign-in on iOS.

• Our backend servers hosted at app.missionshanti.org, which store your account and mood data on secure infrastructure.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as it is needed to provide the App's services:

• Account information is retained for as long as your account remains active.

• Mood entries are retained for as long as your account remains active, so that you can view your full history.

• Authentication tokens are retained on your device until you log out or uninstall the App.

• Backup logs and database backups may persist for up to 30 days after deletion, after which they are permanently removed.

• If your account becomes inactive for more than 24 months, we may delete it and its associated data automatically.

5. How to Delete Your Data

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. To do so:

1. Open the Shanti App.

2. Go to Profile → Delete Account.

3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Once you confirm, the following happens:

• Your account is immediately deactivated and you are signed out.

• Your account record, mood entries, and associated personal data are deleted from our active databases.

• Residual data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which it is permanently and irrecoverably deleted.

If you are unable to delete your account through the App, you may email us at
sachin.hamirwasia@gmail.com and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.

• Correct inaccurate information.

• Request deletion (see Section 5).

• Withdraw consent at any time.

• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between the App and our servers.

• Bearer-token authentication on all API requests.

• Access controls and monitoring on our backend infrastructure.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but work continuously to protect your data.

8. Children's Privacy

Shanti is not directed to children under 13 (or under the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email when reasonably possible.
