What are Symptoms and Disorders of Anxiety?

Multiple disorders link back to anxiety. Below are just a few disorders that you may relate with. It’s best to ask a professional if you think you have symptoms of anxiety or depression. It’s better to know you have anxiety or depression rather than to think you have it.

  • Separation anxiety: fearful while away from loved ones
  • Phobias: extreme fear over a situation or item
  • Social Anxiety: fearful of social places
  • General anxiety: worried about the future or fearful of bad things happening
  • Panic Attacks
    • Heart beating fast
    • Sweaty palms
    • Dizziness
    • Difficulty Breathing

General symptoms of anxiety include:

  • Trouble sleeping at night
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Stomachache
  • Often feeling worried, irritable, angry, or fearful
  • Keeping worries to yourself

It’s easy for others to miss these symptoms because of how well people with anxiety can hide them. However, if you strongly relate with these symptoms, contact a professional about them before treating yourself.

What are Symptoms of Depression?

Depression is when a person is persistently sad, not occasionally. Unlike the adjective “depressed,” which means to feel discouraged in the moment, Depression means that a patient constantly feels hopeless and distressed.

Symptoms of Depression include:

  • Feeling sad or hopeless most of the time
  • Not enjoying hobbies or fun activities
  • Changes in diet; either eating more or eating less
  • Changes in sleep schedule; either sleeping for longer or sleeping for less time
  • Changes in energy levels; feeling tired and sluggish most of the time
  • Having a hard time paying attention
  • Feeling worthless
  • Showing self-destructive behavior
  • Acting unmotivated and causing trouble

It’s hard to spot depression in patients because they can hide their emotions and feelings within themselves. If you relate with any of these symptoms, tell a professional so you know whether you have depression or not.
